ICE Council members are elected by ICE members worldwide and an election is held annually. About one third of Council members are elected every year, usually for a three-year term, to replace those members who are due to retire.

Voting method
The Electoral Reform Services (ERS) has been appointed to carry out the ballot process to ensure the security of the vote. The ballot is conducted online and a paper ballot is issued when:
- A member has opted to receive a postal ballot
- A member has not provided ICE with an email address
Opting out of online voting
To opt out of online voting:
- Visit MyICE
- Go to ‘My Office’ and click ‘change my ICE profile’
- Click on the + sign next to ‘Ballot & Voting Options’ and tick the box to request the postal vote
Election announcement
The elected Council members will be announced at the Annual General Meeting, through ICE enewsletters and this page of the ICE website.
