This talk covers what the crane is and why it had to be decommissioned, and reviews the options for removal together with the constraints imposed by the location and interfaces. The methodology of removal will be detailed, with attention on the components used and their design and testing. Also highlighted will be the aspects of the controls on the operation and the interfaces to allow the works to go ahead.
A time lapse video will show the temporary works build, the crane sliding and lowering during the site phase of the works.
The final section of the talk will review the works to float out of dock and load in to the disposal area for cutting to pieces for recycling.
Please note that there is no requirement to book a place to attend this presentation. For all other enquiries, please contact Joanne Mallard - joanne.mallard@ice.org.uk / 01752 766230.
