Following the success of last year’s event the ICE SW is again holding a golf competition at Oake Manor near Taunton. The competition is open to ICE members and guests.
“Oake Manor is a well-established 6109 yard par 70, parkland/lakeland course and offers a challenging and memorable round for all standards of golfer. A series of lakes, cascades and a trout stream run through the course, creating water hazards on ten of the eighteen holes.”
The course is a few minutes drive from junction 26 of the M5. All standards of player are welcome with the proviso that they have experience of playing the game. Handicap certificates are not required. More information can be found on the club web site at http://www.oakemanor.wd-uk.com/index.php.
The afternoon round will be a full handicap singles stapleford competition over 18 holes with players arranged in groups of three or four. The first tee has been reserved from 14:14pm.
The cost for the afternoon round of golf will be £30 per person, members and guests alike. This price is for the golf and a small allowance for prizes. We have not arranged any meals as it is more cost effective to order individually as needed. The golf club can take orders on the day and judged on previous experience were quite efficient at serving promptly.
