An introduction to the role of ecology within engineering and development schemes.
This talk will highlight the types of ecological issues that may be encountered on projects, and the importance of identifying these early in the project. This will be discussed in the context of current wildlife legislation, policy and best practice guidance.
Examples of mitigation solutions will be illustrated by case studies from projects in which CEC have been involved. Opportunities for turning mitigation into biodiversity enhancements will also be discussed, along with the non-ecological benefits that these measures can provide.
There is no requirement to book a place to attend, but for all enquiries please contact Joanne Mallard - joanne.mallard@ice.org.uk / 01752 766230.
