The aims of the session are to offer: some guidance on what makes a good bid from the client’s perspective; a practical bid development process which tendering organisations can fine tune to match their specific needs; some practical tools and techniques to improve the quality of bids submitted as part of the competitive tendering process.

Speaker Colin Thomas has worked with the Highways Agency and local highway authorities to help them develop appropriate processes to support their procurement strategies through the stages of: prequalification; development of tender documentation; tender presentations/bidders’ conferences; tender clinics; evaluation of tenders; validation checks.
