Date 21 FEBRUARY 2012
Time 18:00 - 20:00
Event Type Meeting

Throughout history civil engineers have been responsible for some of the most recognisable structures in the world.  In addition, the development of our profession throughout this time has led to a much improved way of life.  As a result civil engineering is now an integral part of any civilised society.

The Institution of Civil Engineers is today at the forefront of developing engineers, not just in the UK but across the world.  This evening meeting will look at the history of this prestigious institution, from its early roots as an informal meeting of like-minded engineers through to its present role in advising government policy and developing the engineers of the future.  As well as charting the history of ICE, the meeting will also cover the ethical standards expected of practicing engineers by looking at the Institution's current Code of Conduct.

Please book online.  Please note that you do not have to be an ICE Member to use the system.  Once you have followed the link, choose “Register Now”.  You will be required to supply your name, email address, postal address, date of birth and a password.  When the formalities are completed, you’ll be able to book for this and any other ICE meetings that are of interest to you.
