Do you have the 'power to persuade’?
Could you work as team to convince a public meeting about the merits of a new civil engineering
project?
Could you do this in about 20 minutes and then handle (possibly hostile) questions?
Why not boost your CPD by taking part in this popular and successful annual event which
gives you a unique opportunity to develop your communication skills in a role play public
consultation scenario.
Teams will select one of several scenarios, prepare a public consultation strategy, produce a
public information leaflet and make a presentation at a ‘mock’ public meeting.
Rules of Entry:
- Industry experience (5 members permitted where 1 student is attached to a graduate
- team)
- The Winners of the regional round will go through to the National Semi Final Round in April. The National Final will be held in May.
- Entry is free
- Top prize of £500 to the National Final round winners
- Teams should be made up of four graduates or students each with no more than 7 years experience
