The UK does not currently have sufficient capacity to process all waste that could be utilised for energy. An estimated 30 million tonnes go unexploited every year and more is exported to Europe.
At a time when government is trying to cut carbon emissions and sure-up energy supply it’s increasingly crucial that the potential of extracting energy from waste (EfW) be realised.
ICE Energy from Waste 2013 will address barriers to success within the industry and look at initiatives to ensure its future. The conference will consider the continuing blockers relating to planning, financing and community opposition that are strangling progression within the industry.

- A unique case study from British Airways who are taking household waste and using it to create jet fuel
- How burning sewage gas is allowing Severn Trent to generate significant amounts of electricity
