For this landmark project, in a location where temperatures range from +30oC to -40oC, turbines have been transported across the Gobi desert and a new industry developed within Mongolia. Salkhit wind farm is the first of its kind in the region where significant investment in renewable energy is expected over the coming years. SgurrEnergy's team based in Glasgow and Mongolia has provided technical support throughout the development of the 50MW project. This presentation will provide an opportunity to hear about the key civil engineering challenges that have been overcome.
