A presentation by Bob Feurtado and Charlie Morrow of Carillion Technical Services.
It is very unusual to find a major construction project that does not require the installation or diversion of utility services such as gas, water, electricity, communications and drainage. Despite being commonplace the installation or diversion of utility services is often a lengthy process which can add significant risk to the completion of our projects.
In this talk – Bob Feurtado and Charlie Morrow of Carillion Technical Services – will give an overview on the process and timescales for getting works to utility services carried out including the design & approvals, and subsequent site works. They will also discuss surveys and mapping of existing services, the management and planning of diversion works, and current best practice including 3D modelling of services for planning and coordination as part of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
Bob and Charlie are both Senior Project Managers at Carillion with over 40 years experience between them of managing utility works on major civil engineering projects.
