The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Delegation 2013 will be held on 22nd – 29th March 2013, which aims to encourage networking in an international scale.

With growing global concern over climate change, the government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) has committed to the environment by launching mega scale of sustainable and zero-carbon emission projects, so as to create a brand new eco-friendly city in the region. As a continuation of the success of delegation in every year, ICE this year will broaden member’s vision in the realm of foreign experience in delivering the sustainable urban development projects by choosing Dubai and Abu Dhabi of United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the destinations.

With the theme of “Striving for a sustainable future – a global mission for civil engineers", a series of site visits, seminars and meetings with the local engineers will be arranged. Delegates will not only learn the design and development of novel technologies for low carbon and energy efficient buildings, but will also appreciate the urban planning policy as well as the concept adopted for the city development in United Arab Emirates (UAE), especially on how the environment lives in parallel with the urban development in a sustainable manner.

Application
Applicants will be required to submit the following items in one single batch:
• a completed Application Form
• a copy of Hong Kong Identity Card
• a copy of the identification page of a valid Travel Passport (with a minimum validity of 6 months at the time of the trip)

• a cheque of full payment amount**
 

**The cheque sent during application will be deposited only if the applicant is selected to be the delegate. No refund is allowed for any selected applicant who withdraws from the delegation.
 

Further details of making the application will be disclosed on ICE Hong Kong’s webpage (ice.org.uk/hongkong) on Tuesday, 19 February 2013. The Application Form will also be available on the same day on ICE Hong Kong’s webpage.
 

Delegates will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to Graduate and Student members. If any of the four aforementioned items is missing in the batch, the application will be deemed as incomplete and therefore disregarded. Delegates shall attend a pre-trip briefing session.
 


 

Fee
ICE Graduate and Student members:        HKD 7,600*
ICE members of any other grades:         HKD 9,000
Non-members:                                          HKD 15,000
*HKD500 will be refunded upon sending us a 300-words study report and attending the dissemination seminar held after the trip. 
* Extra $3600 for single bed room while $700 for stay behind for maximium 21 days.
 

The fee will cover the expenses of air tickets, accommodations, meals, local transportation and entrance fees.

Delegates can stay behind in Dubai with an additional charge. The Division bares no responsibility for successful arrangement of staying behind.
 

For avoidance of doubt, a graduate or student member shall be an ICE member who is subscribing the corresponding grade of membership at the time of making the application to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Delegation 2013. Applicants claiming to be ICE member will be required to provide a valid membership number for checking, failing which will be considered as non-member.
