ICE NNND - Regeneration through Major Infrastructure White Rose Way and Finningley & Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme
Speaker: Neil Firth, Head of Service, Doncaster MBC
Through £28m of regional and national infrastructure
funding, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council is
seeking to unlock and bring forward significant privately
funded employment, leisure and residential development by improving transport links around the M18, A638 and Robin Hood Airport. Geographically, Doncaster is the largest metropolitan borough with a population of 300,000. Including a 4.4km link road, a new bridge over the East Coast Main Line, the WRW and FARRRS schemes seek to redress the balance of public / private sector employment in the region, making Doncaster less reliant on public sector jobs than the English average.
