The M62 J25 to 30 is one of the busiest sections of motorway in Europe with traffic volumes regularly reaching 160,000 vehicles per day and a higher than average accident rate. The project provides additional capacity on this 25 km stretch by converting it to a managed motorway scheme using ‘dynamic hard shoulder running’ and ‘all lane running’ whilst making best use of existing infrastructure and having minimum disruption to motorway traffic during construction.
This will appeal to those in the industry who work within the highways design and construction, motorway communications and traffic management sectors. You will also learn about the Highways Agency’s strategy behind managed motorways and the benefits they bring in balancing capacity, cost and safety.
