Speakers: Mark Davidson, Angus Council and Fraser Milne, University of Dundee.
The Montrose Bay Beach Erosion project is a phased study being undertaken by University of Dundee on behalf of Angus Council and the Scottish Government. Phase 1 resulted in a report entitled, “Morphodynamics of Montrose Bay and Implications for Coastal Management” to explain the dynamics of the beach at Montrose; Phase 2 led to the development of a report on the “Management of Erosion at Montrose”, which has now led on to the implementation Phase 3 that will look to develop possible demonstration projects on site and carry out interventions that will reduce the rate of erosion within the bay that can be monitored and measured over a period of time. The talk will review the progress of the study and stakeholder participation to date through to the initial implementation of plans for Phase 3.
