This year's visit will be based on Aberdeen and around.  Provisionally, it will include a selection of bridges in the Dee and Spey valleys.  In Aberdeen, it will include the Harbour where the skills of Smeaton, Telford and Cay can be seen, Bridge of Balgownie and Bridge of Dee, Wellington Bridge and Bridge of Don, Union Bridge, built as part of the Georgian Civic improvements, and Robert Stevenson's Girdle Ness Lighthouse.  Further afield, it is hoped to include Telford's Craigellachie and Potarch bridges, a Caulfield military bridge, a suspension bridge by J Abernethy & Co., Brunel's Balmoral bridge, the 1863 Ballindalloch Railway Bridge and a trip on the Dufftown railway.

The visit will start on Friday 6th July at c10.00hrs and finish by 6.00pm on Sunday.  Overnight accommodation will be available.  Travel will be by coach.  The cost of the three days bed and breakfast on Friday and Saturday nights and dinner on Saturday night is expected to be c£200-£250 per person.  Members wishing to join for one day only will be most welcome.
