Challenges and Opportunities for the Supply Chain
Construction, storage, operation and maintenance: Understanding the vital role of UK ports in supporting the offshore wind industry
Offshore wind presents a wealth of opportunity for the UK to generate an increasing amount of energy from renewables. By 2020 the UK has committed to generate 15% of its energy from renewable sources.
In order to harness the energy from offshore wind the UK ports need to prepare to meet the challenges that the marriage of these two industries present. Along with these challenges a number of exciting opportunities also present themselves.
Ports play a vital role in supporting the UK Offshore Wind developments and many are adapting to help the industry grow. However there is still much more to do and this conference will look at the challenges as well as the opportunities for Ports and Developers.
