Time 18:00 - 20:00
Event Type Associated Society

The presentation will review why Great Britain has so many listed buildings on its railway system, and how they were treated in the middle years of the twentieth century, before going on to look at how the Railway Heritage Trust was founded, how it works, and how it has given grants totalling almost £50million in its 26 years of existence.

Finally, by a series of case studies, the present day working of the Trust is explored, looking at some of the stations, bridges, routes and signal boxes where it has given grants towards its objective of supporting the restoration of listed buildings and structures on the GB main line rail network.
