The Reservoirs (Scotland) Act 2011 gained Royal Assent in April 2011, and introduces a new risk-based approach to reservoir safety in Scotland. Under the Act SEPA are required to produce Reservoir Inundation Maps (RIM) and to give each reservoir a provisional risk designation. In this presentation James Ashworth will cover the current position, new Legislation, a comparison of the 1974 and 2011 Acts, discuss work within SEPA including risk designation and set out the key Challenges for SEPA. Tim Jolley will report on the results of a pilot exercise to test the methodology for inundation mapping and the discuss the final methodology.
There will be a short AGM prior to the presentation.
