With a complex delivery structure, involving many different design and construction partners along with government authorities, the Regional Rail Link project is the very definition of collaboration.
The 4.5km City to Maribyrnong River section, was awarded as an Alliance to John Holland, Abigroup, Coleman Rail, AECOM, GHD, V/Line and Metro Trains in May 2012. The project includes two new tracks within the existing brownfields corridor, a new rail overpass, major bridge modifications, a new 500m twin track rail bridge, track reconfiguration, upgrading of some sections of the signalling system and architectural, urban design/landscape treatments.
The format for the afternoon will be presentations at the site office for about an hour, followed by a tour of the site. PPE (steel toecap boots, long trousers, long sleeved shirt, hard hat, fluorescent jacket, eye protection) are mandatory for this visit. The Alliance will be able to supply all PPE items except boots, so you should bring your own boots if you have them. If you do not have boots, the Alliance may be able to supply, but you will need to advise size required in advance.
Attendance is free, but the number attending the site visit will be limited to 40 so you must register. Parking is available at the Project Office. ICE VLA is grateful to the Alliance for facilitating this proposed site visit and for making available key staff to explain the project.
Speakers from the Alliance who will give a presentation prior to the site inspection are:
