Presentation by Don Lamont, Principal Engineer, Rivers and Coastal Atkins.
Construction of the new state-of the-art pumping station at Wiggenhall St. Germans in Norfolk began in December 2006 and was completed Spring 2011. The existing St. Germans pumping station drains some 700km2 of Fen land, protecting more than 25,000 properties and extensive areas of high grade agricultural land to the south west of Kings Lynn. The presentation shall focus on the key construction phases of the project; enabling works, sub- and super- structures, station fit out and demolition of the existing station.
