Speaker: Ian Barton, Arup.
This evening lecture is the first of a two part series on the subject of Rail infrastructure in Scotland. The first lecture will focus on the large-scale renovation work being carried out at Waverly station. Content will specifically focus on the upgrade of the main entrance to the station from the traditional steps to the more modern and architecturally pleasing canopy structure which now exists. Ian Barton, from Arup, will detail the technical challenges encountered throughout this project before exploring the economic challenges professional engineers can expect to encounter in the next 25 years and how best to deliver extraordinary value through infrastructure investment.
This lecture on a project in the heart of Edinburgh is not one to be missed.
Refreshments from 6pm, lecture from 6.30pm.
