Our speaker is Matt McNulty IEng MICE, MIHT, Serco Civil Government. Matt will describe the route his company has taken to get the cycle scheme on the ground, including:
- The Tender process, including the pre-qualification, the tender and its variation
- Developing the Scheme, including the on-street and operational solutions, internal operations and the challenge of going live
- Facts and figures of the scheme, including what was delivered in Phase 1, the tweaks, for example at Waterloo Station and where the scheme is going in Phase 2 and during the Olympics.
Matt has worked in both the public and private sector, having been a Traffic Engineer for Hastings Borough Council for 9 years before moving to Parkman (then Mouchel) for 10 years, initially as a Group Manager and then Contract Director. Matt moved to Serco in December 2008 as Head of Business Development for Transportation Systems in London. He has made a significant contribution to Serco’s winning bid and subsequent role with the design, construction and installation of Phase 1 of the London Cycle Hire scheme. Matt now carries the role of Technical Design Authority in the scheme’s continuing evolution.
