Date 9 APRIL 2013
Time 18:30 - 20:30
Event Type Meeting

This is a joint meeting with IMechE's Thameswey group.  Refreshments will be served from 18.30 and the presentation will commence at 19.00.

The magnificent design by Renzo Piano for Western Europe's tallest building is part of a redevelopment programme for The London Bridge Quarter being undertaken by Irvine Seller.

How do you construct Europe's tallest building on a 5000 sq.m site bordered by a major hospital, a busy railway station, an underground line and a river in the centre of London? How do you at the same time maintain the operational integrity of the neighbours and minimise the disruption and inconvenience of users of an extremely busy environment?

Our speaker, Paul Connolly, of Mace Group will explain how this was achieved to a very ambitious schedule.
