Southampton Solent University is pleased to announce the launch of an innovative new course, in conjunction with the Institution of Civil Engineers, entitled “Developing the Skills and Preparing for ICE Technician Membership”. This course is designed to support students preparing for the professional qualification of EngTech TMICE (Technician Membership of the ICE).
This course will be delivered by highly experienced lecturers; Phil Brown, the Southampton Solent University HNC Civil Engineering Course Leader, and Annie Silver ICE Membership Development Officer. During the course Phil and Annie will support students through the 5 key stages of the application process including: Record of Development Objectives, Experience Report, Project Report and CPD Log and finishing with a Project Presentation/Interview. The unit will be assessed and, on successful completion, will form part of the requirements which will allow candidates to sit the ICE Technician Professional Review (TPR).
Tutors will provide guidance and formative feedback, as well as give specific advice on the required documentation of the professional review. During the course, students will also develop skills in planning, presentation, reflection and communication.
Becoming a qualified Technician Member in Civil Engineering has a wide range of benefits which includes the use of the designatory letters TMICE. You will also gain greater recognition for skills in delivering technical solutions within civil engineering teams. So get on your way to becoming a qualified member by enquiring today.
