In May 2009, the Highways Agency awarded Connect Plus a 30-year DBFO contract to manage the M25 and its key arterial link roads. The M25 is one of the busiest motorways in Europe, carrying more than 200,000 vehicles per day on some sections. The remit included routine maintenance, the delivery of life cycle works and improvement schemes, constructing 62 Km of motorway widening prior to the 2012 Olympic Games and 46Km of managed motorway post the Olympics.
Derek Hughes, the Connect Plus Technical Director will provide a brief overview of the first 3 years of this DBFO project, outlining both the scope and contractual arrangements before looking at a few of the projects delivered so far.
