Structural Engineering often requires an artistic, sometimes inspirational touch.
Similarly, the work of inspirational artists may need a Structural Engineer from time to time to bring their works to reality.
Structural and Civil Engineers’ work often takes them into collaboration with artists; similarly some structures cry out for an elegant and visually pleasing treatment
This evening meeting at Brighton’s AMEX Stadium, will show projects where the Engineer has had to bring a touch of artistry to their work and where artists have had to bring in the Engineers. Examples will vary from large works of exposed structural steelwork, Performance Art, large visual presentations and sculptures, through to historic buildings.
We will also show how Building Information Models help with this work.
Speakers (all practising Chartered Engineers) will include Jon Orrell, Adam Humphrey, Jennifer Graham and Nigel Hosker.
