Presentation by Andrew McNaughton, Technical Director, HS2 Ltd.

Andrew will outline the characteristics of high speed rail drawing on half a century of experiences from around the world.

He will then go on to discuss the development of a High Speed Rail proposition for Great Britain using the lessons learnt and what this would mean for relationships between cities in the coming century.

He will also describe the engineering and construction challenges of achieving the government’s aims in the most densely populated country in Europe.

This meeting is in co-hosted by the ICE and The IET.
