Presentation by Tom Hunter & William Coulet – Broads Authority.
The Norfolk and Suffolk Broads include over 125 miles of navigable waterways and dredging work is an essential part of their maintenance. Managing dredged sediment in an area with the equivalent status of a National Park, numerous nature reserves, SSSIs and Ramsar sites is a challenge.
This presentation looks at how these challenges are overcome and some recent innovative projects involving the construction of retaining structures in very soft ground on a limited budget.
