The Sun Life Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships is one of the largest Tuen Ng Festival dragon boat events in Hong Kong. The purpose of organising Dragon Boat Team not only provide our members a good chance to learn the skills on boating and to celebrate Tuen Ng Festival, it also provide precious opportunity for our members having joyous gatherings and further develop their friendship through regular training sessions.

This event is jointly organized by The Institution of Civil Engineers, Hong Kong Association (ICE HKA), Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Civil Division (HKIE CVD) & The Hong Kong Institution of Highways and Transportation (HKIHT). The purpose of this event is providing a platform for members to show their talents in golf; to share their golf playing skills through competition and most importantly, to create the opportunities to enhance the mutual communication and cooperation between different associations. Delicious food, beautiful scenery and exciting golf game will let participants to enjoy an interesting day.

This presentation by Tom Welsh, Seven Borealis Project Director, Subsea 7, gives an insight into the operational advantages of the Seven Borealis plus the challenges that arose during the design, build and testing phases, together with some examples of the offshore operations that the vessel will undertake.

The meeting will bring together scientists, engineers, water managers, regulators, consultants and policy-makers from universities, research institutes and agencies responsible for the management and conservation of urban aquatic ecosystems including the Environment Agency, Natural England, Countryside Council for Wales, DEFRA, Canal and River Trust and local Wildlife and River Trusts.
