The Environment Agency is undertaking a project which will provide practical advice and guidance on the use and application of risk analysis and assessment for management for UK reservoirs. The project is updating old and developing new guidance for Reservoir Owners, Inspecting Engineers and Supervising Engineers to assist in managing reservoir safety and to meet the requirements of legislation in England and Wales. It will also be suitable for wider use within the UK.

The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link is a committed cross boundary transport infrastructure project, which will provide high speed rail services between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, and a connection to the national high-speed passenger rail network serving major mainland cities outside of Guangdong province. This network, which will comprise some 16,000km worth of rail, is now under construction in the Mainland.
This presentation outlines the design of the strengthening and modifications to the bridge to facilitate bearing replacement, together with a detailed description of the design of the temporary works needed to maintain the bridge’s articulation during jacking. Lessons learnt during construction will be discussed and the structural benefits of design to Eurocodes emphasised.

This Seminar is now fully booked. This Seminar organised by ICID.UK and the UEA Water Security Research Centre will discuss issues emerging from connections made between energy, food and water. Given the preliminary nature of this subject, the emphasis will be on discussing types of linkages, emerging ideas and research opportunities. There is no charge for this meeting.
