The Structural Eurcodes are a set of harmonised European standards for the design of buildings and civil engineering structures. There are 10 Eurocodes made up of 58 parts to be adopted in all EU Member States. In UK, they replace the existing British Standards which were withdrawn on 31 March 2010 when full implementation of the Eurocodes took place. Hong Kong Government has decided to adopt Eurocodes by end of 2014. This symposium will give an in-depth introduction on Eurocodes, the local and overseas experience as well as Hong Kong’s roadmap to adoption.

The AACE Young Members Group are holding a Preparation for Professional Review event ahead of the Spring and Autumn 2012 ICE Professional Reviews.

Simon Attwood of ISG will be explaining how the Velodrome became the most sustainable building on the Olympic Park. Please note that the ISE AGM will commence at 6.00pm prior to the presentation. This meeting was originally planned for 19 October 2011.

The ICE Communications Competition is a great opportunity to gain experience in communicating, or to showcase existing skills. Teams are provided with fictional scenarios and then asked to produce an information leaflet and consultation strategy, and to present their solutions at a 'public meeting'.
