The timescales faced by today’s Civil Engineers to take a project from concept to completion are far shorter than ever before. This applies to all projects from the smallest residential development to major highway and rail schemes. One answer to this is to recruit more staff, which may prove both difficult and costly. The other perhaps more practical route to take is to utilize technology. This is probably why the majority of the UK’s top 100 Consulting Engineers depend more on using modern technologies in infrastructure projects
