Are you looking for help to improve your chances of finding a civil engineering job? Or is your current job unsuited to your skills? If so, we could help.
ICE and our Benevolent Fund will be hosting a workshop in Birmingham for graduates and technicians. Participants will be able to enhance a range of skills to help with everything from finding the right jobs through to producing a successful application and interview.
The workshops, run by career specialists Chiumento Consulting, will feature an intensive one-day programme with group sessions and smaller break-out sessions. Covering all aspects of job searching and application in a simple and informative way, you’ll get practical help and examples at every stage.
The workshop will equip you with the confidence to:
- Match your skills to different jobs – by understanding your skills and experience and seeing how they readily transfer to civil engineering roles and organisations
- Enhance your CV – by producing an effective and fit-for-purpose CV selected from a variety of formats, and making use of an extra one-to-one advice session by phone or Skype
- Carry out effective job searches – by recognising the value of networking and good research to job search success
- Submit successful applications – by producing strong letters and application forms that put you ahead of the rest
There is a charge of £20 per workshop place. A one-to-one phone or Skype CV review, a workbook full of job hunting tips and access to more career advice online are all included in the cost. Food and refreshments will also be provided on the day.
