Graduate and student members and honorary members of ICE are invited to submit a paper on any subject within their chosen field of study or work to the ICE London Papers competition 2013. Entries may be of any length up to a maximum of 4,000 words. Each paper should be accompanied by a summary of not more than 400 words, which should be written in clear, concise English and should draw attention to all-important observations and to the main conclusion. Competitors must be graduate or student members at time the paper is submitted.

This year the London regional final will consist of three to five members who will each present their paper to a judging panel at the evening meeting on 21 May 2013.

Entrants must have no more than seven years’ industry experience and be prepared to present their paper, answer questions and respond to comments during the competition.

The winners of the regional final will go on to represent London at the national final.  The winning member at regional level will receive a cash prize of £1,000.

Deadline for registration: Monday 8 April
Deadline for entries: Monday 22 April 2013
Finalists will be notified by Friday 3 May and must then prepare to present their paper on Tuesday 21 May.
