The project aims to widen Tolo Highway/Fanling Highway between Island House Interchange and Tai Hang to alleviate the traffic congestion problem on the Tolo Highway. Project cost is estimated of about HK$ 4,487 million.
The technical site visit will concentrate on the works under Contract No. HY/2009/08. The Works to be executed under this Contract include, but not exclusively, the following major items -
(a) Widening of about 3.5km of existing Tolo Highway from existing dual 3-lane to dual 4-lane between Ma Wo and Tai Hang;
(b) Construction of Bridges No. 12A, 13A, 15A, 18A, New Lam Kam Road Flyover, and Tai Po Tai Wo Road Link Bridge Nos 1, 2 and 3;
(c) Demolition of Existing Brdge No. 18;
(d) Modifications of existing Bridge No. 12 (N512), No. 13 (N513), No. 15 (N515)and existing Lam Kam Road Flyover (N555);
(e) Slopeworks and construction of retaining walls;
(f) Civil and structural works, and all other works necessary to cater for the implementation of the electrical and mechanical works for the traffic control and surveillance system (electrical and mechanical works by others) from Ma Wo to Tai Hang;
(g) Drainage works including extension of cross-road drainage, culverts and stream diversion works;
(h) Provisioning of mitigation measures which are identified and/or recommended in the Traffic Impact Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment and Drainage Impact Assessment;
(i) Civil, drainage, structural, geotechnical, traffic aids, landscape works, waterworks, fire hydrants installation, and electrical and mechanical installations associated with the road widening works;
(j) Entrustment of waterworks, entrustment of sewer works; and
(k) Routine Maintenance of Road Network.
