Who should attend?
The seminar is designed for Civil Engineers aiming to take their Professional Review in 2014 or beyond. This seminar may also be useful for non-candidates who need to understand ICE Reviews better, eg SCEs
What will I learn?
You will find out what ICE Reviewers expect from Professional Review candidates and therefore understand what evidence and personal qualities you need to present to achieve success. Organised by the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Support Team, the seminar will concentrate on preparation for the Review six to twelve months ahead and so is aimed particularly at those intending to sit CPR, CPRP or MPR in Spring 2014 or beyond. Speakers, including a senior Reviewer, a successful candidate and members of the Regional Support Team will explain the holistic nature of the Review, as well as looking at the written submission (Reports, CPD records and application) and the requirements of Sponsors.
What is the programme for the day?
The seminar commences at 1000h and finishes at approximately 1630h. The day will cover:
- how the ICE application process and system works
- the nature and content of reports
- a measure of your personal standard of English
- what Reviewers specifically look for and how they will use your written submission
- how and why candidates go wrong
