Are you a competent civil engineer?
If so, this may be recognised by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) by the award of one of our professional qualifications, even if you do not have the required Educational Base (academic qualifications). The Technical Report Route (TRR) is a development and replacement of the Mature Candidate Route. It has simplified the procedure and, most significantly, takes into account most academic qualifications by reducing the amount of compensating experience required. The TRR consists of an Academic Review with the Professional Review in a one-day assessment. The Academic Review will ascertain how your experience has compensated for the shortfall in your formal academic achievement, compared with someone of a similar age who does have the required educational base. The Professional Review will determine whether you meet the required attributes of a particular class of membership. Success at the TRR will grant you membership of the ICE and registration with the Engineering Council.
Programme
Drawing on the experience of the Regional Support Team, successful candidates and mentors, the aim of the seminar is to advise on all aspects of the TRR, including: the Technical Report, Mentor, Sponsors, CPD, the Experience Report, Presentation, Academic Review interview, and Professional Review interview.
The seminar will conclude with questions.
Who should attend?
Those people who believe that they meet, or will meet, the requirements for an ICE professional qualification in all respects other than the educational base. Prospective Mentors of such people will also find the seminar invaluable. Whether or not you are a member of ICE, you will be very welcome to attend.
If you already have the Educational Base, this route is not for you. But if you know anyone who may be interested, particularly if they are not members of the ICE, please let them know about the event.
