Our speaker, Tony Leyland, will talk about aspects of the vision and the practicalities of getting the Shard project started. He will discuss the professional team that got it built and the special issues encountered in developing this new icon on London’s skyline.
Tony is a Director of Sellar Investments Limited and was formerly acting Chief Executive of London Bridge Quarter, the developer of Europe’s tallest commercial building, The Shard. He has worked in the property sector for more than 30 years, both in the UK and in Europe. Tony has been the Head of Property at the ICI Pension Funds, a partner in the French commercial estate agents, Weatheralls France, Development Director of Heron International and Managing Director of George Wimpey Property, Ford Sellar Morris plc and Shurguard UK. Tony has experienced property development from the point of view of investor, developer, contractor and agent.
