Tom Newby is a structural engineer who has had two postings to Haiti, first with Tearfund soon after the earthquake in 2010 and then with Habitat for Humanity in early 2012. During these postings his work involved setting up a transitional shelter programme and permanent housing reconstruction. He will talk about his experiences and the engineering aspects of the work.
