Ian Cutler and Nick Langdon of CGL will present a brief introduction and overview on investigations, interpretation, use of data in design and value engineering of solutions, and then look at three or four case studies to provide examples.

The presentation will look at the history of San Hose, the collapse itself, the rescue attempt and the aftermath. It will discuss just how such an incident could be dealt with should a repeat occur.
All too often in recent years mining has had stories of tragedy. The presentation will examine how the Chile mine rescue became the most followed story in many years, culminating in the very successful rescue of the 33 miners.
