ICE London Graduates & Students Paved with Good Intention? Contracting with letters of intent

  • London
  • Instituition of Civil Engineers

This seminar will begin by going back to basics with a look at what exactly "letters of intent" are, their status as a form of contract, and when and why you might use them.  It will then explore how to make letters of intent a more effective tool for contract risk management and ultimately how to avoid the issues which all too often can lead to disputes.

21 OCTOBER 2010

BTS - Sir Alan Muir Wood Memorial Symposium and Dinner

  • London
  • Institution of Civil Engineers

Sir Alan Muir Wood, who died in 2009, was one of the most eminent Civil Engineers of recent times. Having spent most of his professional life with Halcrow as a designer and consultant, his work particularly influenced coastal engineering and tunnelling.

The British Tunnelling Society, supported by a number of other Learned Societies, has organised this symposium to celebrate Sir Alan’s contribution to Civil Engineering. Sir Alan’s peers in academia and industry build and comment on topics which formed threads through his work. The distinguished panel of speakers will present their latest work containing challenging reviews, insights and ideas. Halcrow will mount a small exhibition of archive material about Sir Alan’s work with the company.
