The Structural Eurcodes are a set of harmonised European standards for the design of buildings and civil engineering structures. There are 10 Eurocodes made up of 58 parts to be adopted in all EU Member States. In UK, they replace the existing British Standards which were withdrawn on 31 March 2010 when full implementation of the Eurocodes took place. Hong Kong Government has decided to adopt Eurocodes by end of 2014. This symposium will give an in-depth introduction on Eurocodes, the local and overseas experience as well as Hong Kong’s roadmap to adoption.
