Professor Amory B Lovins, Chairman, Rocky Mountain Institute
ICE/Halcrow Prestige Lecture 2009
In this lecture, Amory Lovins challenges companies to think of systems as integrated units in which multiple energy and resource benefits can be reaped. He argues that civil engineering is ideally placed to rise to the challenge and explores the opportunities to innovate in design while providing better solutions to problems like climate change, energy management, poverty and water scarcity. He claims that by looking beyond the profession itself and working in collaborative units with new and unusual skill combinations, engineers will be able to contribute more effectively to a stronger industry and better global future.
