ICE and Costain Lecture 9 November 2010. Health and safety legislation increasingly influences the way organisations operate. This lecture focuses on the question ‘does legislation work?’ - How effective is it at keeping people in the work place safe? Is legislation alone enough? Do we have the right legislation and is legislation in fact the most effective way of doing things? Can you legislate against everything – how far do the current laws go and how far should they go?
Listeners will hear two views on these issues, from a legal project management and behavioural specialist’s perspective. Unfortunately Ian Galloway, Programme Director at CLM who explored these issues from a project managers perspective could not be recorded due to contractual restraints.
