Dr Bruce Lankford, Chair, International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage chairs this lecture given by Rudolph Cleveringa, Manager, Innowat Programme, International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), Rome. Rudolph was very interactive and with the help of the audience discussed issues such as:
Youth issues in work of IFAD
Feminization of agriculture in Asian and Africa, and what that means for the water agenda.
Climate change coping capacity and how this affects the multiple uses of water
The gap in knowledge in agriculture water management due to suffering 20 years of
disinvestments in water management in the least developed countries.
Each of these points is underpinned with life stories and pictures from the field.
