Green IT infrastructure

As the growth in IT usage continues, so does the increase in CO2 emissions.  It's estimated that 2% of global CO2 emissions are caused by the current IT hardware in use today. This includes equipment like PCs, servers, cooling, power supplies, networks (LAN and WAN), printers and disk storage. Green IT and all associated infrastructure must consider the full lifecycle energy costs of any IT related hardware.  This ICE briefing sheet provides a background to Green IT, considers key drivers for change, highlights strategic planning concerns and sets outa  potential action plan.
