This report, compiled by ICE North East’s Expert Panel on Transport calls for joint public and private sector action to ensure future transport funding for the region is used effectively to support economic recovery.
This report has been compiled by the ICE North East Transport Panel, through a process of workshop discussions, desk research and in consultation with the ICE National Transport Panel and various regional stakeholders who all provided their expertise, views and knowledge of a wide range of transport issues.
The aim of the report is to assess the current state of transport in the region, the changes that have occurred both in the North East and across the country since 2008, and suggest a way to take the debate forward, along with other like-minded organisations, with a view to identifying the right infrastructure for the right places at the right time in order to address historical and current deficiencies and drive economic development.
ICE can provide advice for the emerging Local Enterprise Partnerships and others in infrastructure-related matters generally and transport issues in particular.
This report is issued to a wide range of stakeholders including politicians, civil servants, local authorities, trade and industry bodies, as well as the media.
