ICE believes that sustainable use and management of the marine environment is necessary to conserve resources for future generations. However, whereas development in the marine environment should strive to avoid irreversible adverse effects, the ICE does not believe that preservation (ie. avoiding all change) is either necessary or supportable in this naturally dynamic environment.
