London 2012 - Sustainability

The London 2012 Olympics has achieved the lowest accident rate and best health record of any major project. The challenge of the 2012 Games was to host the most sustainable games ever - by designing and constructing sustainable venues and then hosting a sustainable event. Some key elements outlined helped achieve the high standards of Health and Safety and the role of professional engineers across the works from master planning and design to construction operations. Issues were highlighted in delivering sustainability on a major design and construction project and how, through its part in the London 2012 project, the ODA contributed to this sustainable challenge.
