Keeping London moving Pt. 2 - The methods used to tackle the Olympic transport challenges

Document type: | Last updated: 10 JULY 2012

As part of the London 2012 transport programme, the Olympic Delivery Authority has invested more than £500m in upgrading key transport hubs, carrying out extensive planning on public transport, and delivering integrated operations plans that will cover off a further £500m in operations at Games-time to make this the ‘public transport Games’. Working closely with delivery partners, including Transport for London, Network Rail and the Highways Agency the result will be an enhanced public transport network to deliver spectators to the Games, while keeping London and the rest of the UK moving.

The topics of discussion in this lecture are a menu of innovation, including state of the art modelling & analysis, improvements on access & inclusion, the testing and readiness programme, creating the spectator journey planner and enhancing the customer experience. This is part 2 of 2 recorded videos of the evenings event.
